How to Register with the OVA (Ontario Volleyball Association) ( A must-do registration before attending our tryouts)

1. Registering with the OVA is required for insurance coverage. There is no fee for this process.

2. When filling out the OVA registration form, select the “Tryout Player” role under Indoor.

3. If you reach a payment page, you have chosen the wrong role. Return to the role selection and ensure “Tryout Player” is selected.

4. Register with the MRS after September 1st to ensure your registration is valid for the 2026/2027 season and to avoid needing to re-register later.

4. The MRS registration link and a detailed step-by-step guide will be emailed to all the registered players.

5. If you already have an MRS account, log in and register as a Tryout Player following the same steps.

What Parents Should Know About Tryouts

Please ensure your athlete arrives 5–10 minutes before the scheduled start time, fully equipped with the following: indoor volleyball shoes, athletic wear, knee pads, a filled water bottle.

After Tryouts

Following the first tryout, families will be informed via email whether their athlete is invited to participate in the second tryout on September 26, 2026. This step-by-step communication ensures you are always aware of your child’s progress throughout the tryout process.

Whether your child is selected or not, please remind them that this result does not define their worth as an athlete, a volleyball player, or a person. Every athlete has a unique journey, and there are many pathways to success in the sport. If your athlete is not selected for the team this year, we encourage them to keep playing and developing their skills through school volleyball, community recreation leagues, or volleyball camps and clinics in the area. Staying involved in the sport will help them keep growing as a player and enjoy the game.

Next Steps for Selected Athletes

Families of athletes who are selected for the team will receive an email with detailed information about the next steps. This will include the date and time of our first team practice, a parent/player meeting to discuss expectations and the season schedule, and instructions for completing any additional registration or paperwork. Please look out for this message and plan accordingly so your athlete is ready to start the new season.
