Elite Prospects Camp

Our Elite Prospects Camp is an exclusive and competitive camp designed for elite level goaltenders ages 15 and above. With a maximum of 10 goaltenders in attendance, we aim to provide a high level of personal attention and quality time to each of our athletes in the group.

Alongside our team of Sr. Instructors and Jr. level/OHL and Pro shooters at each station, this camp will push all goaltenders to getting a little better each day with their game and habits. With a total of 12 hours of on ice training, 2 hours of Classroom Video Breakdown and a daily off ice stretching and recovery session this camp provides the best opportunity to accelerate your development in preparation for upcoming team/main camps and the hockey season.

Camp Schedule

10:00am – 10:30am Classroom Video Breakdown (off ice)
11:00am – 11:50am Agility skating/puck handling session
12:00pm – 1:50pm Puck Drills (skills and scoring chances)
2:00pm – 2:30pm Stretching and Recovery session (off ice)

Camp Structure
  • 5 stations on ice: goalies will rotate once through each station

  • A strict 2:1 ratio (goalies to Instructor)

  • 10 goalies maximum at each session

  • 1 Chief Instructor at each session

Coaching Philosophy

Puck drills have been built around our list of 10 scoring chances, designed to challenge each goaltender with a game-like feel while allowing for attention to detail in their form and fundamentals of our position.

We coach with a focus on the following concepts:

  • Agility skating (crease movement, edges and body control in various scenarios)

  • Upper body saves (skills with glove, blocker and chest saves in various scenarios)

  • Lower body saves (skills with stick and pad saves in various scenarios)

  • Net orientation (understanding the 3 elements of a goalie’s crease positioning: angle, squareness and depth)

  • Post work (defending against plays from below goal line without overuse of the RVH, staying patient before leaving your feet)

  • Box control (understanding the true size of the open space that you are covering, based on the puck angle and what a puck “sees” in proximity to the net and goaltender at any given point on the ice)

  • Goalie IQ (playing with patience, awareness of options around you, trusting your reads and instincts in any play)
