Our camps are dedicated to the education of youth in the rapidly changing computing industry
Note: If you are having trouble making an account to register or other registration troubles, try using a different web browser.

What is the camp program?

The camp runs daily between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. (except for Friday). Campers will work on their projects as an individual and in small teams. Throughout the week, various activities, lessons, and presentations from instructors and industry experts will take place to enrich the camp experience. Regular bio and activity breaks away from the computers are also scheduled each day to help keep campers focused, engaged, and refreshed. Your camp registration covers all activities.

This year campers will be introduced to game development, programming, website development, an introduction to hardware with microcontrollers, and more and throughout the week. The basic registration option comes with a starter microcontroller kit while the upgraded registration option comes with an upgraded microcontroller kit which gives everything the basic kit has plus additional features. The scheduled microcontroller lessons will NOT include the extra features of the upgraded kits. The upgraded microcontroller kit is recommended for campers that wish to use it as a focus of their project and Mentors with knowledge on how to use them are available to help despite the lessons not covering the upgrade kit. Campers will get to take home their microcontroller kits and they are included in camp fees of each registration type.

Friday afternoon is highlighted by a closing ceremony at the University of Regina, where campers get to show their creations to family and friends. In addition, the camps provide lasting benefits by enhancing your technical, creative, and communication skill sets. You return home better able to assist the advanced technological challenges and opportunities faced by your family, schools, and community groups.

When does the 2025 camp take place?

This year, we will host a five-day computer camp for you and your friends starting Monday, July 7th, and finishing Friday, July 11, 2025.

Where do the camps take place?

The camp program occurs in the Classroom Building on the northwest corner of the University of Regina Campus in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Note that this is a different building than where the 2024 camp was held, as we have partnered with the Computer Science faculty this year. The entire camp will take place on campus with presentations taking place in a room to be announced. Campus maps are available on the University of Regina website.

Who should attend the camp?

The camp is designed for those aged 12 to 17 (including camp start dates) who yearn to learn, think logically, thrive on challenge and group interaction, and have a technology interest that includes more than just playing video games. Any level of computing education is welcome, whether beginner or advanced.

How large is the camp size?

This year, the camp will be limited to 18 participants to ensure appropriate mentor supervision and capacity to teach and aid campers.

What’s the camp schedule?

How does the camp week begin?

Camp begins Monday, July 8th, at 8:00 a.m. at the University of Regina. After introducing staff, camp rules, and procedures briefly, everybody dives right into action! During the first Monday session, mentors evaluate each camper’s abilities and goals to ensure learning at an appropriate level.

What about meals?

What are Biobreaks?

For the daily morning and afternoon bio breaks, campers are provided bottled water and fruit juices, and a short break from their computer screens. Per faculty policy, food and drinks are strictly prohibited from being brought into the computer lab. There will be a side room where drinks like water bottles can be stored, as well as water fountains on campus.

What meals are provided as part of the camp program?

All campers are provided a pizza lunch on Monday. Campers who have attended previous years are provided a '‘two-peat’’ pizza lunch on Thursday which includes a group discussion with camp staff about their camp experiences and feedback of previous years and the current year to help Mentors facilitate the best camp possible.

What about other meals?

At other times, campers are responsible for their meals. They are welcome to bring their food (stored in a fridge/heated in the microwave), or they can bring money and may purchase their meals at campus establishments or other nearby establishments. Parents and guardians are free to pick up their campers for meals if they wish, but please let a mentor know so we can keep track of where all the campers are at.

What are the camp fees?

The camp fees are $330 per basic registration, or $350 for upgraded registration the. Fees include T-shirts, all camp activities, microcontrollers, and biobreak refreshments. A $150 cancellation fee will apply for any cancellation within one week of camp beginning or during camp.
