2025 Competitive Edge Camp

Competitive Edge Camp is a 4 day fun filled camp, based on enhancing all players competitive spirit to be more effective in game and drive play. It is proven that kids learn when they are having fun, this camp creates a fun competitive environment where kids are working on decisions, problem solving and enhancing their ability to compete.

If we aren’t teaching our players to be competitive early on, it isn’t a skill that is easily learned as they get older. A great coach once said, “You play to win the game!”. We teach players that there is a process to winning battles and provide the instruction to become more skilled at it.

Whether it’s winning the race to the loose puck or arriving second but having a good stick and body to regain possession, these skills build a player’s confidence and decision making all over the ice. If you get to loose pucks first, are you then able to fend off the pressure and make an impactful next play.

This specialty camp is a must for all U9 - U 13 aged players.

It is designed to ensure that players learn the skills and the tactics to winning battles all over the ice (e.g - Win the lane to win the puck). Every play in hockey is a potential battle, being the first to the puck, coming out of the corner with the puck, using your stick appropriately to create space or to take it away from an opponent.

Contact is a necessary part of the game and in this camp we work with players of all ages on their hockey ready position, so they have a stronger base, are stronger on the puck and ultimately have a better chance at winning battles all over the ice.  The players will learn to welcome contact (called contact confidence) and work through it when out dueling the opposition.

This camp is a mix of 1 on 1 battle drills & competition drills, all structured to enhance the competitiveness of your player.  Battle skills are necessary to succeed in hockey!

For younger players, this camp prepares them for the inevitable contact in the game and will prepare them better when body checking  becomes part of the game at U15. Contact confidence is an important step in their growth towards bodychecking per Hockey Canada’s body checking pyramid.
